Your Crop Is As Good As The Soil It’s Planted In

We are all familiar with the quote, “You reap what you sow.” No truer words have ever existed but one thing we rarely talk about is the type of soil we plant our seeds into.  Anyone who grows things for a living or as a hobby will tell you that a seed is only as good as the soil you plant it in.

We’ve all had that friendship or relationship where we we’re constantly the one giving. You give in the hopes that the person will learn by the example you’re setting. You give because you feel compassion  for the other person. You give because you want the other person to know that you really love them. You give endlessly yet you get frustrated because you never see a harvest. The truth of the matter is that you have seen a harvest except its a harvest of dead, dried up, rotten fruit. The reason? You planted your seeds into unhealthy soil that was never ready to receive the goodness you were sowing into it.

Do not continue planting your valuable seeds into dead infertile soil in the hopes that one day you will get what you want. You won’t. You will end up angry and disappointed every time. Be selective about the relationships that you decide to cultivate. Take the time to prune out the weeds in your garden so that they don’t strangle the beautiful flowers that are trying to grow. Love yourself and the other person enough to release them to their greater good so that you can move on into yours. It’s ok to let toxic people go. You deserve better.

Remember: Never blame the quality of your seeds when it’s the quality of the soil that is to blame.

Sending you Love in abundance,

Stephanie
